Doesn't look like it would cause any problems and even if it did, would the loss of that portion of the tail even be noticeable? Not if you didn't notice it was there in the first place.

I saw this on Sadie's lip when taking pictures today. I was able to open her mouth and it's not red or inflamed at this point, so do I just watch it closely or make my vet appointment now.

Looks like some minor swelling. If you treat it with some diluted Hibiclens it should be fine. Treat it daily for a few days. I don't think a Vet. visit is called for but that has to be your call.

I picked up the Hibiclens 4.0%, what ratio do I need to mix w/water? Also picked up the Betaide 10% if I need that also. Steve thanks so much for your help.

I just mix a little in until the water looks pink. You can use a saturated q-tip to roll it up under the "lip". The nice thing about this stuff is that it isn't as toxic as betadine, and the antimicrobial effect lasts for 6-8 hours. Using it twice a day should be plenty. After a meal is a good idea.

Richard has a lot more experience with Hibiclens then I do. If he says twice a day I would do that.
