    Re: Ranch News

EVERYONE RUSH TO STEVE'S HOUSE! Lol. It's like you look out of your window and see 50 people all carrying snake hooks and garter snakes on your front lawn lol.

You and tank will definitely be in my prayers. I know what it's like to have something that you love but shouldn't have. I used to have a gator that was sweet as ever! He would take food from my hands and would knew when it was me coming to his tank. However, if I had got caught with him, I would be fined $25,000 and he would be taken away. Unfortunately he died from internal parasites. I know what you are going through. You and Tank will definitely be in my prayers. please, keep me updated.

I'm thinking about attending the meeting if I can.
That way I can answer any questions that might arise.

I'll keep the forum posted as things progress.

My best wishes are with you.
Do attend, and take an album of pictures highlighting your program. Feel free to include the one of Jay rubbing tanks chin that is here in the forum albums.

You should also provide an outline of your program, if one wasn't included with your permit paperwork.

I didn't as it wasn't required. Good idea though.
Not sure if the meeting is open to the public.

Spoke with the City Attorney today. He didn't think the exclusion was going to be a problem so he didn't think I would need to be there.
He said he would call me Thursday morning with the decision.

If you use an animal for educational purposes do you need to take out some sort of insurance just in case?

    Re: Ranch News

You're lucky they count your activities as "Educational" purposes. Any permits of that type for keeping restricted species around here are only granted to educational/research institutions. Showing your animal off at schools and stuff doesn't count. I mention that mainly because someone hinted in another thread about keeping concinnus' in WA under a permit. They're not granted to individuals at all. Just Universities/zoos for study/research purposes. And believe it or not, once they are in captivity they must stay there, or be destroyed. They can't be released later. If any captive breeding is done as part of the research, those babies are doomed to be destroyed as well, once research is finished.
