When I went to Brasil, I helped Roberto paint his house. It was kinda neat knowing I left something behind.

I am thinking that since monitors are burrowing animals, I'll have to find a way from keeping him from tunneling too deep.

I think that (hope that) since it gets colder the deeper down he'd go, that the temperatures would deter him from going down more than a few feet.

I would be tempted to consider digging down a couple of foot and laying a steel mesh, then re-fill and tamp it down. As you know monitors are mini excavators!

Took a couple pictures last night. This time from my tank in our living room.

These are the snakes that have been here the longest...

First up the snake formerly known as princess. (he's a boy, so I just call him Prince, Samantha called him "Princess when I first caught him)

A couple months ago I dropped the tank cover on his head, thought I was going to lose him, the scar is just under his left eye (visible in the photo)



And of course my sweetie DK Xena, she always gets in the way when I take pictures in that tank. She sees the flash and scoots right out...

Xena started this whole obsession, had her 3 years now.

Our landlord bent his no pet policy and allowed us to keep her.

When we got the house, it just exploded! (Our snake collection)

Being as evil as I am, I probably still would have called the garter princess, even after finding it's a boy... names stick so hard in my head... lol!!!
