I would certainly be arrested if I where at the event. These type of events make me embarrassed to be a human.

I'd end up arrested too... As well I'd bring a very big friend of mine who'd love to pick up the 'contestants' n swing them around from there head! (He has done it before... He's all sorts of MMA n fighting styles, he trained my brother in law, big... big big man.)


Many things humans do make me embarrassed to be human as well. ... Have I ever mentioned my distaste for stupid people?

Time for some good news.

The 2012 Snapper Fest has been cancelled. This is a festival where the contestants grab snapping turtles by their necks and swing them around.

What a horrible event perpetrated on an animal that just wants to be left alone.

Happy Birthday Tank


Tank turned 4 today. I think he is right at 17 pounds. I am so happy with Tank. Every day is an adventure with an animal that usually doesn't like human contact. Tank on the other hand seeks it out. He recognizes me from everyone else and wants my undivided attention. He is a hands-on turtle.
I do keep in mind the potential injuries he can inflict so I am caution. With that being said Tank has never shown any aggression since coming to live with us.
I look forward to many more years with this unbelievable turtle and member of our family.
Cake and ice cream is planned for later in the day when the kids get home from school.
