    3 weeks at 0 degrees would kill off a lot of possible parasites. If you freeze it at a temperature that is too high, it might not kill anything.

    so if I buy it at the store should I still freeze it for 3 weeks?
    I wanted to Thank you Steve for your help with the heating pad.

    I have 4 Easterns(mine: Furbie and Whiplash; moms: Diamond and Silky) all are 5 and half months old. So much fun gaters are.

    I, honestly, wouldn't worry about it. Frozen is usually cheaper anyway, so just go that route, but I'd give my guys fresh human grade fish fillet and not give it another thought. Some may not want to take that chance, but I'm fairly relaxed when it comes to stuff like that and haven't killed anyone (snake, human or otherwise) yet

    It's best to freeze it for at least a couple days after buying it. I do that just as a precaution, I guess.

    thank you all. Maybe Ill pick some up in the next cpl days like samon or bass. How big should the pieces be cause right now all ive been giving Pheobe is crawlers. The right ones . And thats it. Do I make them warm when I defrost them or..... What?

    No bigger than her head, and if you cut them into small strips, they should thaw fairly easily, that's all you have to do. Warm temperature isn't really needed.
