I know! I actually wanted to get checkereds, since my husband had really taken a fancy to them, and so far he hasn't had any say in snake choices.
So when I saw them available, I jumped at the chance.
But he's totally happy that they're radix/plains. Who wouldn't want these guys?! I sent a message to the couple I got them from. They were really great, but not necessarily gerter specialists, so it was an easy enough mistake - especially if the breeder sold them as checkereds - which is more of a puzzle.
The name Ska came from Ska music, of which the checkerboard pattern was a heavily featured theme in that scene.
Patton is named for Mike Patton, musical genius, and long-time love of mine (in an admirational sense, of course).
