I saw a pair of stunning Florida blues in Hamm last year. I regret not buying them but they was €170 for 7year old snakes. Maybe able to help you with the pickeringii next year if Sjoerd has none. .

If you go looking to purchase some pickeringii, be sure to specify that you're looking for blue ones... they're not all blue. Some are blue, some are yellow, and some are both (green)

Allow me to go so far as to say most of them are not blue at all in the wild, but the blue phase is typically what you see in the pet trade. But just like pickeringii, (puget sound garter) concinnus' (oregon red spotted) have an uncommon blue phase as well: (which are also anerythristic, lacking the typical orange/red and yellows of a normal one)

I love the blue snakes too. They are all so beautiful. My absolute favorite! I could get only the blues and be very happy. I do not have any yet actually. Hi, I'm Lisa. I'm new to snakes and to the forum. You guys have helped me so much to prepare for my baby. I just want to thank you all. I never thought I'd want a snake... for years my son has wanted a snake, but I've said no, I have never liked other snakes, and still get the willies from most of them, but then he found a garter out by the creek and we tried to keep it last month. We thought it was a girl from a book we have, though it was for corn snakes, I mean a snake is a snake right? ...so we went with that. Her name was Sabrina. We kept her for about 3 weeks or so but we couldn't get her to eat anything. We decided to set her free again. Well, I found this forum after that and was sad we let her go so soon. She was so calm, tame and sweet, so easy to handle. She was about 18 inches long and black with 3 yellow stripes. We thought it was best anyway, because after we had her for awhile we called a few places to find out what we can do for her and found out it is illegal to keep wildlife of any kind around here. We didn't want to worry about that. But we still miss her, crazy huh. We will be getting an Oregon Red Spotted soon. I have a question though. Will my snake be happy and healthy if I only have one? Thanks

I really like the blue garters as well. Flames used to be my favorite...and I still think they are gorgeous...but some of those blues really give flames a run for the money.

Your garter snake will be fine and healthy living by himself, but be careful they are addictive!
