    Here in CO they are commonly called bullsnakes but are actually gopher snakes. I understand the confusion.

    yea, i think its a gopher/bull/pine snake. definatly not a garter snake, but the confusion when it was small is definatly okay, i probably would have thought the smae thing.

    Bullsnake or Gopher Snake
    looks like both are in CO....the second pic from bottom is a gopher rest are bulls
