Gorgeous. Love the albino red sideds. One of my favorite aberrant garters. I just have a thing for red/orange on an albino. Beautiful.

Re: 2012 Albino and het T.s.parietalis (Red Sided Garter Snake)

I offered food on there birth day but no one ate. I wasn't surprised as very few snake eat that soon but it does happen.
This evening I place 5 worm chunks under the hide and 30 minutes later there were only 2. Looks like one of the hets.
    has started eating.
I offer food as soon as possible as not to miss any fed opportunities. I mean an opportunity for them to eat.
I believe for some snakes the fed window can come and go rather quickly. By offering food early I catch all these windows.
Food doesn't go to waste if they don't eat. I have a few other snakes that will pickup the slack.

Make that 5 pieces offered and 5 pieces eaten. I think the larger of the two albinos has eaten.

I put 12 more pieces under the hide. I'll check it in the morning.
Hoping I can get all these special snakes eating and thriving.

Awesome that they are eating! Good job little guys!

Now how big are they exactly, I'm kind of curious and still trying to guess age on my girl.

Re: 2012 Albino and het T.s.parietalis (Red Sided Garter Snake)

    Been a good morning.
10 pieces of food eaten. I even watched the smaller albino swallowing a piece. That means both albinos are eating.

Here's a strange one. While feeding the adults Red Sideds the male dropped out and headed across the floor.
I went to the other side of the enclosures to intercept him. In order to grab him I had to move a small trash can.
Under that can was a Red Sided het. It must have escaped shortly after it was born.
Now the count is 7 born, 1 stillborn, 4 hets. and 2 albinos.

Good catch. Much longer and that baby het would have been facing dehydration. Hope he fairs well after his adventurous start to life.

    Thanks Chris.
I was just down in the snake room and saw the smaller albino out so I offered a chunk of worm.
The little scrub took it right off the hemostats. This group is doing very well for only being 2/3 days old.
