    Re: My new gals photos

Yay! Sammi shed today! I'm so excited, I needed to share cuz it's her first shed for me. Now I feel better about her health and settling in for me. Did a great job, and all shiny and new again.

Thanks, yeah they do that a lot, either from the front of the bush or out the back. They are curious but still leery. They are coming around though, Sierra faster than Sabrina (Now being called Sarah, Sabrina just wasn't sticking. )

My beautiful Sierra shed yesterday, she seems to have even more orange in her now than before, I'm loving it! Her shed did not come off as clean as Sammi's but we got it all. Steve, did her shed come off in several pieces before? Just wondering if that is normal for her, thanks. Two down, and one to go, we'll see if Sarah follows suit soon.

    Re: My new gals photos

I would say it usually comes off in one piece but having a broken shed isn't anything to worry about unless you get retained eye caps or tail sheds.
Sierra is looking a lot like her mother (Speckle) She's beautiful.

OK, good. When I went to check on her the tail piece you see there was still on her, I held onto the edge that was loose and she just slithered out of it, I was relieved for that. Thanks. I wouldn't mind if you posted a picture of Mom Speckle here to see where she could be going in the future. I'm so glad to have her, she eats outta my fingers now and is very curious about the camera; makes it hard to take pictures when she is crawling over the top of it to see what I'm doing. lol

    Re: My new gals photos

    She is gorgeous!

One thing I did end up buying was:

I know some people wouldn't use it or may be leery about it, but it works rather well and can be applied once per month before a shed to ensure that they have a much easier time shedding! It was about 8$ at petco and I barely used any at all with how little Suzi was... She has no known history of a "bad shed" but still as a preventative I figured I would give it a shot... Found her first shed in 1 solid piece nothing was missing from it! I was like YES!!!!

I am not sure how well she would have shed without it... (probably just fine) but I wanted to be sure she wasn't going have difficulties!

Just an idea and some input from one garter enthusiast to another! and again.... She is beautiful!
