Also, if you intend to breed NEXT year, what you can do is buy one of my baby males, (They'll be here any day now and will have been fathered by one of my 3 easterns, all of which possess the Northeastern characteristic) pamper him nice and good through the winter, and by next April he'll be ready to mate. I brumated my males for two months, and they were still ready to mate in April, so I'd assume that with two other months of feeding the chances of the male NOT being ready to breed would be slim to none.
I was not aware a male would be ready to breed at a year old. Keep me posted on the babies

I would also be interesed in "teh stud service" I would be willing to give you half the litter. Just need to figure out shipping costs and if it would be worth it.

From my estimates males are ready to breed at 6-8 months of growth age. The reason you see estimates online saying 2 years is because the first 3 months is spent as a neonate, then brumation, then 6 months to grow, then brumation, then that spring the snakes are mature. Also, they get better quality food and more of it in captivity. :P

He was put in there over a month ago with the assumption he may be eaten... Now I guess they are just buddies I think Piggy is to slow to catch him or something
