I breed Nerodia Fasciata, last year she gave birth in feb this year she hasn't done anything yet, but i saw them mating about a month ago. So hopefully i should have some young in a few months. There are some pictures of them in my photo album.

    Re: Nerodia (water snakes)

    Hello,

I have a one year old water snake, and I’m wondering what is her supspecies. I suppose it’s a N. f. fasciata x N.f. confluens, but whaddaya think?

    My snake:http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7...nnistusbn3.jpg

    Her father:

And by the way, what do you think about keeping Thamnophis (radix) and Nerodia fasciata together in same big terrarium? I've heard couple of people doing that without any problems, and I will get my T. radix-female in September (I'm not gonna put them together immediately if ever, but probably sometime if it could work..)

    Hi Anthon

Your water snake looks just like my neriodia fasiciata. I have got pictures of mine in my album. They do go quite dark as they get older.

Personally i would not keep garter snakes with my water snakes. As the water snakes are very strong chunky snakes and very aggressive feeders and i think they could damage the garters.

Yeah, maybe so.. But what if (of course) I would separate when feeding them?

But well, I think I don't put them together, maybe it isn't such a good idea

    Re: Nerodia (water snakes)

Remember the lawn mower injured Nerodia sipedon that my neighbor and I were rehabilitating?

Well... two days before her 30 days were up (her release deadline), she gave birth to FIFTY offspring!
