Great pictures, Rhea. Those are both great looking snakes. And the trip is certainly something I would enjoy....maybe someday... also, nice to see Terry's photo.

We had a wonderful time. Rhea, Mikhaila and Jeff are even nicer in person than here (which is hard to imagine). I know two snakes have a VERY good home. If Jasper is really a Jasper (and not a Jasperette) there might be babies next year. Great names Mikhaila, it was really nice naming Rhea’s Chloe (formally green girl, no imagination there). It was great to meet you. The photos were great, and Jeff did a good job (I didn’t look too fat) on the portrait. BTW the first falls is Taughannock Falls, and is actually higher than Niagara (215 ft), only the volume of water is slightly less (I couldn't resist adding some nearly useless trivia).

now that I think of it, those falls looked really tall - never occurred to me to compare the height with Niagara
and I'm sure now, judging from that riverbed that is has an immensely larger capacity for water
there was a lady there who said she'd never seen it so dry before
they also don't let you get you very close, because of the danger from falling rocks

    I just love useless trivia

oh, we also went to this town called Lockport, so named because of a series of locks (boat elevators) in the Erie Canal (10' elevation difference each, totaling 50")
this town once had three factories run directly by hydro-power
the water was diverted from the Canal through huge water pipes that had been tunneled through the rock
that water directly powered the drive shafts for the machinery in the factories
so we got to walk through one the main tunnel and that was pretty amazing
even though it's man-made, this tunnel is now old enough to start behaving a bit like a natural cave, forming stalactites and flow stone patterns
