Just ordered yet another book, The Lucifer Effect by Philip Zimbardo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Sounds like a very interesting man! Is The Lucifer Effect more of a documentary style or more fictional type reading? Either would be interesting. I'm just curious.

It's documentary. Written by the guy behind the Stanford prison experiment.

The book was inspired by what happened at Abu Ghraib and deals with what can drive a normal person to behave that way. I haven't read much of it, yet.

I've just started the third book in the "Dhampir" series by Barb & J.C. Hendee. First one is "Dhampir", second is "Thief of Lives" third is "Sister of the Dead". So far its a good romp. These books would appeal to anyone who likes gothic, fantasy or playing D & D. Whoops! I guess I just stepped out of the nerd closet into the spotlight! Oh well! I can deal.

Last week I was at our local library. I took my wish list with me and approached the guy working at the Reference desk. I gave him my list and asked him to order these through the inter-library loaner program. He looked each one up and told me it would do no good to order them as the colleges NEVER loan out text materials, especially to a public library. I proceeded to tell him my philosophy to life "If you don't make any calls, you don't make any sales". I explained to him the fact that not ordering them meant the answer was no when there is a chance it could be yes. He laughed and said it was a waste of time.
Today I got a call from the library. All three books were in. I feel like I hit the lottery.

Awesome! I had that one,^^^ but gave it away with many tanks and stuff when my last pair of garters died. Last snake book I ever owned. Last time I had garter snakes (until this year) for that matter.

Still have his "Psychedelics Encyclopedia" (1993) though. Go figure.
