Try a pile in a corner on a plastic lid or something. Although I used to just put damp moss in the cold hides on top of the substrate. I stopped because it stays damp longer in a container.

I put the moist hide back in Hermes' enclosure and now he is refusing to go inside...he is throwing a tantrum like a toddler.

I haven't put any moss in Cee Cee's enclosure yet...her humidity is up around 50%...and she seems happy hiding in her cave.

I wanted to put some in her viv because she is getting ready to shed...and the container might be the problem...she will not go in a moist hide. So, I was thinking about just putting a little pile in the corner.
it has to be able to dry out and its no big deal if it mixes with the substrate

Okay...good deal. I am really thinking that Hermes may have a retained shed. He has a line down the middle of his belly like he gets before a shed...and his eyes look puffy like before a shed, yet he just shed....and he keeps wiggling through plants and rubbing his face on stuff they way they do when they are trying to get a shed off.

So here is a question...how many of you are as crazy as I am and get up in the middle of the night to check on your snakes?

I wake up multiple times at night and watch my snakes sleeping... It helps me stay calm.

I don't think that is so crazy...but I wake up to check on them to make sure they are okay because I worry about them...that is a little bit crazier...but that's me...the worried mom...I also check my son, the dog, the cats, the guinea pigs...make sure everything is off....that nothing is on fire...lol...that is my crazy...now you know....I'm a checker.

I do too. They are so cute when they sleep. Sometimes Willow falls asleep with her face against the glass.
