    I was herping by a stonewall yesterday morning and had some terrific luck.

    I saw a few eastern garters basking. A couple yards farther down the wall, I was startled by two large Timber Rattlesnakes. Both were at least 4ft long, gorgeous, grumpy and really fat.

    I kept returning to the site to take pictures as they shifted to various poses throughout the morning. One of them was much more photogenic than the other.

    Can you spot both of them?






    Is this one just fat or could it be pregnant?

    Nice pictures posted while I was on holiday

    I was on holiday at the Belgian coast the first week. From this year there is a small amount of seals there. It's an attraction, luckily for the seals that the area is at least sealed off a little.
