    Re: The Nature Photography Thread

I vacationed recently by a lake in Virginia and had the chance to go herping. We didn't see as much as I had hoped but it was still great!

This is a juvenile Five-Lined Skink lizard. The cute little guy actually bit me when I caught him. He couldn't even break the skin though. Haha.
The blue in his tail is much more stunning in reality than it is in the photo.

An adult Five-Lined Skink that was hiding on our deck. Isn't the difference between the adults and juveniles amazing!? I would never have guessed they were even the same species.

A little ring-neck I found under a board near an abandoned barn. I never get tired of seeing these guys.

This Black Rat Snake was a real surprise. He was under a board in an abandoned barn. (I love abandoned barns!). We estimated him to be about 3 or 4ft in length.
Earlier in the trip we accidentally came across another Black Rat Snake that was about 6 or 7ft in length, it was incredible. Naturally, I didn't have my camera with me at that moment...Grrrr.

    I know, he's just a duck...but he's still beautiful.

Which is more tempting: The fruit of knowledge or the possessed, talking serpent? DUH! - The Serpent!
