    Stumps is cute

We adopted a Cornsnake from our local Humane Society. His previous owner apparently didn't think to find him and his lady friend a new home before moving on and left the snakes in an apartment. He's a little thin and had patches of left over shed.

    Very nice, Kris.
    Good job on the rescue.
It won't take long to get him back to normal.
Sometimes they just need some TLC.

Thanks guys I love love the yellow on his sides. He's not nearly as active and fun to watch as Simone is. I put him in a tub and set him in the bathroom while my older two took there showers, then wiped him off with a warm damp rag. Managed to get the patches of old shed off. His G/F is still at the shelter, she's full of eggs and won't be released untill she lay's them. Sad thing, is I think they're just going to trash the eggs.

Why does her being with eggs stop you from getting her now? Is that a shelter rule? and if so, why?
I've never hatched snake eggs before but have done my share of turtle eggs. Any chance you can get the eggs? It's a big undertaking and I can understand if you woudn't want to do it.

shelters tend to take the tack that there's not much reason to propagate animals that ended up there to begin with, since that does say something about supply and demand
