    Find the snake.





    Easily the largest grass snake (Natrix natrix) I've ever seen. Well over a meter long, my best guess would be 120 - 130 cm, large enough to easily take a vole or a mouse. The pictures really don't do its size justice.




    I never fail to get a something between me and a snake's eye when I try to get close enough to take a proper close-up. This time it was a blade of grass.

    Nice find! The photos look good, too. It is usually tough trying to get close enough for a good shot of a wild snake.
