Water has receded some. Basement has much less water on it. Sump pumps are getting a little break now.
    Clean-up will commence again shortly.

Glad to hear it, Steve. I don't envy the clean-up, but it's better than having to evacuate everyone!

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside

Water had receded significantly. The back half of my backyard is still flooded but should be clear in a couple of days.
I was having trouble clearing water off the original basement floor and had to purchase a new sump pump.
Within an hour of the new pumps installation the floor was clear of standing water. Now I just need to dry things out again.
The snake room floor should be dry in the next day or so also.
Things are looking up for a change.

    Good!

No idea what a sump pump is, but it sounds useful!

In my case it's a submersible pump that is placed in a deep bucket in the basement floor.
Tubes are placed under the concrete floor that allows the ground water to travel to the bucket.
When the water in the bucket reaches a certain level the pump turns on and pumps the water up a pipe and out of the house.
Works great as long as you have power to the pumps.
    Sump pumps- It's a home owner's thing.

The back yard is still partially flood but now there's something else to report about.
The smell of rotting night crawlers. If you don't know the smell count yourself lucky.
One of my dogs decided to cover her scent with the scent of dead worms. GROSS.
