Hi Rhea: Wow Chloe looks great! Not a lot of snakes around this year, but did find a nice gravid female under the solar pool heater this afternoon, no pix, maybe next time. See ya.

Re: Rhea's garters and the occasional other beast

can you guys help me give names to my new babies?
some of them I got something for, but I've just not really had the head for that sort of thing
I even took photos of each single one of them - unfortunately through the sides of the critter keeper
so here is the anery parietalis male
he is the smallest and has taken a small piece of f/t silverside so far
    a bit shy and skittish

this is the melanistic sirtalis male
he's a robust little guy - took a pinky strip off a plate as soon as he spotted it
Scott tells me these guys have never had rodent

this girl - Myrtle Beach flame - took both pinky strip and f/t silverside right off my tongs
    she's pretty curious also

the other flame is skittish - really hard to catch, hence the photo quality
she did also take pinky strip off a plate, but a bit more tentatively

this girl is amazing and I'm thinking of naming her Mango for the dorsal stripe and then some
she grabs pinky strip of my tongs like food is going out of style
and then she looks like this (again - lousy photo)

I've never seen a baby pack it in like this, it's quite something to behold

I am really happy with these guys

Re: Rhea's garters and the occasional other beast

That first one - the anerythrystic parietalis male - looks like a tire tread on a road bicycle to me. I know that's not very romantic, but it's the first thing I thought of looking at the picture. I'd probably end up calling him Schwinn - or maybe Bianchi, that's a bit classier.

Re: Rhea's garters and the occasional other beast

thanks - those are fun names
I think I'll go with Schwinn for him, because he's too dark to be a Bianchi
oh good - one down, three or so to go
I do think Mango will be good for the nebraska
and I'm thinking Topa for the myrtle beach flame, because her colours remind me of the pink moment over the Topa Topa bluffs, which I always thought it was more orange than pink (let's see who gets that reference)
so there's really only two to go - the melanistic male and the other flame
