My babies would eat an adult nightcrawler. (try) They're pigs.

The nightcrawler we get are 2x the size of the babies so I know they couldnt. The night crawlers we get also like to twist around and wrap around what ever is trying to eat them. I know they will do that cause obvisly (spelling?) they know there going to die. We get huge ones. It cost about 3 something for 18 nightcrawlers and they love them. Im so glad that they all eat now. and some of them are pigs...lol

How often are they sopposed to shed? Cause they only have shed 1 time and that was the day that they were born. I heard that they are sopposed to shed more ofen then adults. I was just wondering. Thank you again for the help.

Shedding depends on the snake. Mine do it a few times a month.

I was joking about them eating a nightcrawler. The worms are as big as the snakes, but my flame once bit a whole worm, couldn't hold on and let go. thats why i said that.

Actually, my flame once shed 3 times a month, but then next he only shed once.. it just depends.

Cool, I bet raising babies from your own female is exciting my two baby easterns are complete opposites. The one has shed twice in the month I've had them and has now surpassed his sibling in size (probably about twice his size now- I'm wondering if I should separate them now so the smaller guy is safe?). He will stuff his face at every opportunity, eating good sized chunks of nightcrawler until he looks plump. I feed daily, and if I see a head poking out of a hide or if they are cruising around looking hungry, I'll feed twice. However, the smaller one (with the red in his sides) only takes two, maybe three tiny bites, and usually only every other day. Is this normal or is the little thang going to die? Also, should I cut that back on feeding his brother, the fat-a$$ ?

I wouldn't call it exciting. I'd call it a lot of work, and a lot of luck, to raise them up successfully. Exciting? not really. But very rewarding when it works out and they become healthy young adults.

Yes I would cut back on the feeding twice a day. (WTH?)

I feed my babies everyday, but I don't let them stuff themselves. Id wait afew days I'm between feeding that beast.

Fat isn't good. If he's fat, don't feed him, let him get slimmer by waiting at least 2-3 days between.

Fatness can kill a snake. Do not let them become overweight. It also lowers their life span.

im going to be going out of town tomorrow morning and be gone until sunday night. Will the babies be ok until then without being feed or should I take them with me?
