    Re: my new arrivals

    btw
two of them took scented pinkie today
normally I don't feed snakes the first day
I was feeding anyway and thought I'd offer
    just because they're skinny
the biggest one sucked down three
one was still checking out his new digs and wasn't interested
I'll try to take poop pics tomorrow after work
if I get a helper I can try to take pics of the blister and the other skin stuff

It's probably best to let a vet sort them out for you, but Piperazine phosphate does the job in double quick time ...watch the dosage though!

I use 100 mg/g Panacur at a doseage of 25-40 mg of Panacur per kg of snake (per Roger Klingenberger D.V.M.'s recommendation). Panacur kills by "interfering with energy pathways." That's why it's best to consult a vet for proper diagnosis and doseage recommendations that are appropriate for each snake. People in need, though, can always find help online, here, but accurate weights of the snake and measurements of the medication are critical.

    Re: my new arrivals

nematodes are parasitic roundworms or threadworms
they can occur in various environments

    and actually
I have no evidence as yet, that my snakes have them intestinally

I was pretty certain yesterday that there were subcutaneous ones
now I'm not sure what that is
    I'm probably imagining things
but I see or feel tiny bumps under the skin and then when I check there's nothing there
there are a number of other skin things
    lesions, scars, rough patches
    no evidence of mites

You'll probably find that the majority of the scars and lesions become gradually less obvious now that these animals are in your capable hands, Rhea. The sub-cutaneous bumps are possibly worms, these will be removed by a worming treatment.

    Re: my new arrivals

I think yesterday they looked much worse than today
like they were stiff and kinked from the trip
    their skin looked much worse
I've washed and soaked a couple of times
and got some old shed off

    I haven't offered food again
the one who didn't eat, is taking longer to settle in

next time I offer food, I will take the others out first
    especially the female
