Kinks and their origin?

Wow. Not being a breeder, I don't really have anything to add, but I'd like to say thanks for making my noggin think.

Yes, I've read a bit about kinks being caused by high temperatures and other stuff saying low temperatures are the cause. My personal belief is that poor/non-varied diet when growing rapidly (babies) is a major contributing factor.
