    Re: All our little critters:)

They're suprisingly easy to take care of(ferrets that is). They stay in their cage most of the time. I only have to clean their litter out every other day. And they only come out to play every couple of days or so. Any more than that and they get bored with it and start acting up. But they're a blast to watch play. They sleep like eighteen hours a day.

    Re: All our little critters:)

Good info, thanks! I've been a little leery ever since I got my first pet as an adult... a rabbit in an apartment. I was told that rabbits do well in apartments, could be litter trained, etc. Well, every time I let him out of his hutch, within 5 minutes he was chewing on the carpet, electrical wiring, woodwork, etc. I felt horrible keeping him in his small cage day after day, but couldn't let him destroy a rental apartment, either We eventually placed him with friends who had another outdoor bunny. I would have liked so much more for him, but it's one of those life lesson sorts of things I guess.

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

Wish I could sleep 18 hours a day!!

I used to watch this families house when they go on vacation... they had a ferret, they neglected him. I should have saved him from there. His cage was nasty, no one played with him.
    * I would clean his cage, give him fresh water, & took him out to play *

they had 2 dogs, 3 cats, several chickens & some hens. - feeding the chickens & hens was FUN!!! they would follow me to the garage to get their food.LOL

That's too bad about the ferret. They're such fun little guys to play with too Bosco our second oldest has a thing against feet. Maybe he got stepped on as a child but if I stand still he'll start nibbling on my toe or climbing up my pant leg. It doesn't usually hurt thought

    Re: All our little critters:)

So as some of you may or may not know Bethany and I recently drove up to Council Bluffs to meet Steve AKA Guidofatherof5 to pick up one of his juvenile radix. He's become quite comfortable with both of us in the week we've had him. And since I promised Steve I'd post lots of pics of his little guy here he is. Snakes must enjoy the show Bones cause he just sat on my chest and watched it with me for awhile last night after I got home from work. But first I had to find him. He's discovered that he can tunnel in the repti-bark and has since started hanging out in it when his hide gets too warm for him.

He looks very happy. He'll never want to comeback.
I don't blame him. He's got a good thing going on.
He's a good looking young man. Sounds like he's settling in very well. T.radix does like family time.

If it were me I'd be getting him a girlfriend hint, hint.

With each other mostly yes. Occasionally they get into tiffs but very rarely. Usually around feeding time. As for the snakes I try to keep them away from the cats. That way no unfortunate accidents occur. Though they do like to sit on our bed and watch Sku and Guido while they're moving around a lot. Got a couple of pretty good photos this afternoon of Guido hanging in the bush above the pond.
