Re: Radio-telemetry to study black racer home range, movement, and habitat use in Mai

A great opportunity! Have fun! Just got to go on a Fisheries hike learning about salmon stream habitat. These outings always let the real nature of a species shine! You get to acquire the gestalt of the animal and its environment. You begin to "feel" the intricate web that connects any one particular species to the countless other plant and animal species and their specific niches. You get to embrace form and behavior...

How close are Black Racers to the Western Yellow-bellied Racer?

Good luck on your outing, Brett. I know you'll really enjoy it and find informative as well. Racer a quite a challenge to get your hands on. Very fast and excellent at finding hiding spots, also very nippy rascles.

You're making me get teary-eyed. I love history - did you guys hear Einstien's E=MC sqaured has been PROVED! - and such as you describe excites me. It goes back to the forest primevil (sp?) and all that came before. The connection of species.

Not only do you get to embrace form and behavior, but an understanding of why things were the way they were with early man - based on the life cycle of an animal/species.

    You are one lucky dog.
