Well that's not really difficult, even venomous snakes are legal to hold in the Netherlands. There is no law against it.

And I also thaught they where rear-fanged, which does not mean they are dangerous. They are like Hog-nosed Snakes.

Cool Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)

    Hey Kuno,

    congratulations!
    They look very fine.

I have kept them some years ago during two years or so.
They are very similar in way of life and terrarium-conditions as Thamnophis.
They swim more, but you also noticed that.

I lost mine in a stupid way. They lived an my attic and the temperature dropped suddenly. I noticed this too late and they all were dead. Temperature got below 10 °C. and they could not handle that.

Re: my new fish eating snakes :-)

Not a winterrest as in Thamnophis.
It also depends where they are from. If I remember well, they live in different regions with different climates. I am not 100 % sure about this.
When I find something about it I will let you know.
Mine died when the temperatures got to low, so I think you can lower the temps with some degrees, but I would not go lower than 18-20 °C.
Maybe you can limit the hours of light also.
Or maybe keeping them a period quite dry will stimulate the reproduction.
You must treat them as tropical animals.
