So far this season we've had 2 mexican black kingsnake babies hatch, 17 kenyan sandboa babies and our Brazilian Rainbow Boa is due to have babies anytime. Oh yeah and weve got some pueblan milksnake eggs in the incubator which should be hatching in the next couple of weeks. Nothing from the garters this year, they are still too young.

Also, it may not have been your setup that allowed the specimens to escape: Adult males, or the fully winged ones, are notorious fliers.
**Edit- Also, a bit of olive oil helps as well. Offer it in a small dish, but make sure it's shallow so babies don't drown in it. :P
    Cool- thanks.

Were your 17 keyans all from 1 fm, or more? Have you bred them many times, and how many are average per litter for you ?

They are from just one of the females, she was huge before having them too We got them as a proven trio (2 females and a male) a year ago. Last year both females produced babies the slightly bigger and older of the females had 8 babies last time and the younger slightly smaller female had 7 small babies, 3 of them died suddenly a few days after birth

This year it's only one gravid Garter, She is plumping up nice. Has trace colorations of "flame" gene, Cannot wait to see if any babies have strong flame markings.

Opted out this year with Dekays & red bellies, getting little tiny neonates the right size slugs and hunting for baby worms was very time consuming last year.

The babies I am most excited about is the Scott Felzer stock I shoveled a bunch of cash at :-) Scott said they will be ready to ship next week.

If any of the babies from my litter have strong reds, it will be bred into the Scott Felzer snake. (flames)

If more than one or two are strong flame, I may offer some, but who knows for sure yet.

    Regards,
    Wayne A. Harvey
