I have an Olympus FE-115, with 5 megapixels. It has a super-macro function, which is my favourite thing to use. Probably has some other good functions too, but I have yet to find them!

I have a Sony Cyber Shot.. 7.2 mega pixels DSC-W120. I just picked it up not to long ago, works well however when I try to get a full zoom close up things get blurry. I need to sit down with the direction and learn how to use it.

Kinda OT: I swear that my snakes love taking pictures!! A lot of the time they take cover when i mess aroung with the enclosure, not when my camera is out though. Those guys will let me stick the camera directly ontop of them basically.. Its pretty funny.

I have a Kodak Easyshare CS6330 or something. It does great pictures, with great color, except in macro mode, I cannot get closer than 5 inches. I think I'll have to get up to 5 inches, then use my optical zoom to get closer.

For clear pictures I always use a mini tripod. I can set it on a table, or even set it on my chest when I stand and get a nice clear picture. The mini tripod is about 8 inches long, with legs that extend another 6 inches out if I need it. Very handy as it fits inside my camera case also.

I use a Canon PowerShot A620, 7.1 mega pixels, 4X optical zoom. For a reasonably priced camera I have been thrilled with it, especially after I found the macro button!

So, I'm probably getting a new camera as soon as I figure out what I actually need.

On one hand, a Panasonic DMC-FZ50 would probably be enough (Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). On the other hand even a basic DSLR is far more versatile. If I choose a SLR, it's either going to be a Canon EOS 450D, Nikon D60 or a Sony A350.

    Opinions?

    I think that's the same Canon 450D I'm considering.

The Canon 450D would be my camera of choice.... if I could justify spending the money.... top camera! Whatever you choose, I'm looking forward to seeing your results, Stefan.
