Shipping young snakes?

He may have them featured for sale at 4 days, but not to ship until they are older??? Just an idea.

Just a note here, it is not legal to ship any reptiles, mammal, or bird (except eggs of certain birds like chickens) in the US. I read up about this on an aquarium forum. We can ship live fish, shrimp, but not many snails.

If you get caught it could be a hefty fine.

521 General Requirements
The full cooperation of the mailer is essential in order to safely and effectively
transport animals through the mail. The following factors are normally applied
to all shipments of mailable live or dead animals:
a. Protection of postal employees and the public against harm from
dangerous or diseased animals.
b. Protection of the mail and the environment against the following:
(1) Damage to the shipping container or other mailpieces from either
the animal or the refrigerant used (i.e., moisture or condensation
from melting ice, or heat from dry ice).
(2) Obnoxious odors and noise.
c. Protection of animals against death, or protection of animal specimens
against spoilage, taking into account the following:
(1) Expected time in transit.
(2) Expected temperature in transit (weather conditions).
(3) Packaging, including insulation against impact, heat, cold, and
suffocation.
d. Ability of an animal to survive without food or water during transport.
Live animals must be transported without food or water because
liquids, moisture, and loose foodstuffs can cause damage to the
shipping container, other mail, and postal equipment during transport.

other carriers have different rules
animals are being shipped all the time
not all of them legally either, although I wouldn't take the chance myself

That's correct. It only applies to USPS, not other shippers. I just don't want anyone to get a big fine. I don't care if you ship them. Sorry to be a Buzz Killington.

I was wondering if that was the case, too. Personally, I think I would want to make sure the snake was doing well before it was shipped.

I personally would wait until I know the snakes are feeding ok...several weeks. as for the usps....don't allow snakes, but can ship scorpions????? lets not send harmless little snakies in the mail, but shoot, we can send deadly scorpions right on out!!!!

Actually, it is not Scott Felzer. Scott Felzer uses his full name in his ads, this guy signed one of his ads "Scott H." I realized this because they both have ads on kingsnake right now.
