    Very nice erythristic eastern! I've always wanted some from alabama! They will make a nice breeding project and a new twist to the ery's in the hobby since most are from south carolina. Gotta love new bloodlines!

    infernalis are only found on the california coast. this is a erythristic eastern. and a nice one at that. im sure with selective breeding he can get them super red

    The deep black spotting and head shape didn't strike me as a eastern. His coloration is also subdued for an erythrystic eastern. Infernalis I know aren't native to Alabama and that's why I asked where he was when he found it. T.S. infernalis is also found inland in California as well.

    the garter hes holding has reds. to date no red checkereds have been found

    I think you misunderstood me look back at post 7. I was referring to the post you replied to over at fauna classified that it was infertalis.

    absolutely t sirtalis sirtalis, eastern garter. they vary greatly in patterns and colors

    Yes, thank you. That's all I needed was the clarification, bc when you mentioned the thank you for the referral, the next part of your sentence that I read was "it was infernalis". Thought you were referring to the wc.

    Correct Don! And they have areas where they encroach on other sirtalis subspecies as well. Intergrades exist as do wc highbrids. It's not a one way rigid formula approach as some suggest. It's not uncommon either for phenotypical appearances to be mistaken for something it isn't.
