Checkered Breeding

My 2 1/2 year old male albino checkered is several inches longer than his 30inch cage. (33-34a maybe)
Still less than a meter and he is the biggest male I have ever seen. I have seen females his size and o have heard of larger.

What would be the max size of the T. Marcianus? one of my friends says that the males reach 1.3 meters long, Is this correct?

My marcianus aren't fully grown yet, and both are female. But 1.3m would be very large for a male from everything I've read. One of Pinjohn's snakes was a large male marcianus, he had kept marcianus for years and considered him large but I don't think it's more than 1m. Gregmonsta has that male now, so I'd be interested to see how long Greg thinks the male is.

Well she is the biggest Thamnophis marcianus that I have ever seen here in South Africa

Marcianus breed like rabbits.... you really can't mess it up. That is why they are literally everywhere at the shows, and they are the only freakin' garter at most shows... specifically the albinos. It was really hard for me to find NORMAL marcianus that were not tainted by the albino lines. As far as looks go... I am still a full believer that a lime green checkered is the most beautiful snake there is!

I am Lucky that I have a pure Normal Female from Edna that I posted previously she is a normal and have never been tainted with Albino or Het albino blood, here in South Africa the Albino checkered's are scarce, I struggled for 2 years to get my hands on an albino.

This is the 1st year in SA that we have het Albino's available from another female and an imported Albino male.

I am one of very few people in South Africa that have an Albino, there was 6 albinos this year and 4 of the 6 was held back, mine is a female and the other 1 was sold to a friend of mine.

My largest male is approaching 3 feet and my largest Albino female is somewhere between 3.5 to just under 4 feet. Checkereds can get pretty big by Thamnophis standards. At shows I get a lot of "wait..that is a GARTER snake? I thought it was a Corn..."

As stated already, they breed pretty easily. Usually without anything more than just putting them together and letting nature take it's course.
