    I think the season is about over, supposed to rain this week & then cold weather front. May have to switch gears & look for California Giant Salamanders soon

    Don't forget about slender salamanders,california newts (I know a great migration path spot) and ringneck snakes : )

    You really must have some snake attracting powers. I've been out about a dozen times and haven't even found a garter snake. Will be looking to go to the pine barrens of NJ soon. If anyone wants to go, let me know.

    Yes, rough skin newts cross right by a friend of mines house. It is actually not far from a spot that in early spring the coast garter snakes are as abundant as the rattlesnakes are in the central valley.

    Thanks everyone, I do not think I have "attracting powers" though. The snakes really start to move away once they see me...LOL! Actually, finding one snake is not that good IMPO. The only reason why I bagged this one, is because how nice it was.

    Here are some pics from earlier this spring when I found several coast garters...not as nice as this one though so I let them go after taking some pics.
