I think that such a rule is dumb, there are so many old topics that answer alot of questions and are very interesting. Steve even posted not long ago about looking at old threads and how interesting they are... even posted a couple older threads he enjoys.

Awesome find, my dad once found a 72"x18"x12, or 16" on the side of the road... only problem was a crack in one of the ends... he used to make tanks and just easily replaced it.

Not only that, but there are times when an old thread needs to be revived so that new pertinent information regarding that thread can be discussed.

Hi my good friend Eddy saw an aquarium in garbage and he pick it for me!!!At first the aquarium was very filthy but in good shape!The only thing that work for cleaning was comet....this is the best size and shape for garter snake 36x18x15 inches

Some forums will ban/ warn you if you post past a "time limit", since you're reviving old threads. A lot of forums seem to hate "necroing" old threads.

And some simply automatically lock them after a certain inactive time frame. This thread really isn't that old anyway Venti, don't worry about it. At least it's not 3 years old. Just a couple of months. That's no biggie. Even if it was 3 years old, I sometimes find it irritating when someone responds as if it were one day old, but there's no rules about it here.
