Yup I've done that. There's a bunch of rat snakes living under our house (or used to) and I tossed a peice of plywood there, and that week there he was.

I have tons of boards at the creek I herp at. On the rare occasion I find something, it's under one.

It was one of the first SUV's It was GMC's version of a Chevy Blazer or Bronco I think. We had one when I was a teenager. Loved that thing! Could take the top off and cram a whole bunch of people in it

Yes, that's what I meant.

The problem is, his "board", which is a 4' by 4' by 3'' cement block , is his favorite hiding spot, as there are plenty of other flat rocks and dark areas to hide under. Ive only seen him twice in the past four years, so I doubt he'd move. Should I get up early to get him when he's basking?

He'll move around. I had a big beautiful black racer living under our shed. He lived there, I'd see him fo under it all the time, but occasionally I'd find him under the dog house right next to the shed!
