    Re: Ribbon Snake Photo Thread

    Oh no!
Well I've only had him for not even 2 weeks and today is the third time I've fed him. The first time I fed him I gave him two rosy red minnows(then soon after realized my mistake). Then about 4 days later i gave him 4 silversides, and today(4 days later) I gave him 4 more. Is that too much? Or does he just need more fat on him? I haven't gotten him any earthworms or pinkies yet.
He's my first snake so I'm still new to this:P

BTW, They seem to be relativley small silversides too. About maybe 1 or 1.5 inches, I don't know what the average size is for them.

Like I said before I don't know much about young ribbons and I don't feed silversides.
Scented pinkies will have more protein and might help put some size on.

    I'll have to try those.
Another question: Are the pinkies sold alive? That scares me!

OO Awesome I'll have to call around then and find out who sells them frozen! How would you defrost them then?

That is *extremely* thin, even for a ribbon snake, I would think. If the food is making a bulge in his stomach, it should help him gain a little weight slowly.

Today I successfully(about as successful as I will get) measured my little boy for the first time! He seems to be about 21 in. long, bigger than I was "guesstimating." Here are some pictures, I couldn't really get his whole body in the picture, so its sort of in sections

Also update: He's been eating wonderfully since his shed. Hoping he will keep growing and put on some poundage (or maybe grammage)
