Thanks Concinnus Man. I should have used a better phrase than good to go. So far I have found out it is legal to trap and have garter snakes on your posession in Ontario. But I havn't found out where you can trap and for what reason you can posess them. I have alot more to find out before I attemp to collect or buy any animals. I will post everything I find out. Thanks for all the help.

Legal or illegal, I don't think the cops are going to come banging on his door about it. Most authorities aren't concerned about a few garter snakes. I'm pretty sure they can't be sold in pet stores (any garter species) if there are native garters though. You can count on legal importation being a PITA and expensive, or not allowed.
