I'm sorry Don. That's so sad to see. My first thought was pain, too, but Stefan makes a good point too. Too sad. :-(

I'd like to note that's he/she's in shed; I had one baby butler die in shed also. I think what happens is sometimes they just can't get the skin off, so it dries and constricts their body. ):

What makes you think Dons snake was in shed Kyle? When you freeze snakes they get a blue tint and their eyes look like they are in shed when they aren't. They have to go a long time with a dry shed for it to constrict them. And they will be visibly wrinkled and dry. I don't think Don let it come to that.
Also... If the snake was in shed when he died then he wouldn't be in a state where the shed would dry and constrict. That would come weeks later.

The snake does look a little wrinkled; whether or not these are post-mortum signs I don't know.

the reason he looks wrinkled is cuz he's dead...died during the night....the blue tint is from being frozen also....he didn't have an old shed on him to constrict him.....he would have been wrinkled and I would have soaked and peeled him.

Yup. Didn't think Don would have let that happen. When this happens to my snakes I soak them and if it still doesn't work. You CAN hand shed them. I have done it before.
Has this happened to one of your snakes Kyle? Just curious...
