A male and female Sand lizard (Lacerta agilis). The female on the left, the male on the right.

Are you allowed to keep Lacerta agilis in the Netherlands? In the UK it is totally protected.

No, all native species are strictly forbidden by law in the Netherlands.
On the pics are Czech specimen.

It can be very frustrating. Have you ever seen Coronella austriaca in the field?

No, I have never seen them.

They are very rare in the UK also. I have seen them in London Zoo!!
