    That's why I don't eat mice.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

glad you got it under control...

Is this something that would keep you from feeding adult mice, or was it just a whole one-time-thing?

Any time I fed a mouse that had fur, Mama had an extremely hard time pooping. What I did to help that was feeding the mouse that had fur mixed with worms, and fed her worms throughout the week, and she didn't have as much trouble pooping. I think since the worms pass through faster, it kind of pushed some of the fur out every time she pooped from the worms.

    Good question Jesse.

I think I will only feed large pinkies or maybe fuzzies. The chances of this happening again are probably slim but it doesn't have to happen at all.

In the last 2 years I've fed about 17,000 mice products and never had this happen before.
Better to be safe and not feed adult mice to my big girls.

No problem, I needed to know!
Yeah Steve, after that I'd stay away from fur too.

    Re: Honda is Sick

    wow - good save
I would say that that's not a common occurrence
but I have noticed that some of my larger garters definitely prefer rat fuzzies over mice, and I've always thought it had to be because of the fur

Glad that turned out well.. None of mine are big enough to eat anything with fur, but that story officially scared me away from them in the future!

    Re: Honda is Sick

Glad to hear you got it out. Garters don't eat mice that often in the wild so it's harder for them to digest the hair so although people have been feeding adult mice to garters for years with no problems i have always been scared that this would happen. That's why my big girls get either 3 peach fuzzies or 2 rat pinks per feeding less hair less problems in my opinion. I hope she makes a full recovery. I've also heard that a solid rodent fed diet shortens the lifespan of a garter and i bet that is because of the hair, but i don't think this theory has been proven.
