I think that depends on where the snake is lost.
I've lost snakes and they seem to stay in the snake room.
I had a senior moment the other day. I left the door open on an adult female enclosure. It was open for 2 hours.
Once I returned to the snake room I found the problem and did a head count. 3 out of 11 snakes were missing. The others were in their hide like good girls.
I found the first one a few moments later. One of my daughters found another in the laundry room.
The third stayed on the lose until the next day. I walked over to the fridge and found the missing snake on the handle.
I personally think she was breaking into the fridge to steal worms.
