They're beautiful, Rhea!! It's always wonderful when siblings can stay together. :-) So how "old" are they?

Nice cats, Rhea. Very good of you to give them both a home.

    Re: our new pets

they're about four or five months old
because they're from the rescue, they're on antibiotics for a while and a special shampoo once per week
so yesterday I had to shampoo two kittens
let me tell you - there's hardly an unscratched part of me
and forget about leaving that stuff on them for ten whole minutes - that's totally insane
the good news is that Mikhaila does all the feeding, water supply, litter cleaning and intensive playing
the beardie isn't entirely happy with them - I think he'd like it better if there was just one, because they gang up on him

ROFL!!!! Sorry Rhea, but I can picture the bedlam!!! Maybe you better take their antibiotics?? LOL!!!

I know the rescue was thrilled that you adopted both. It happens so rarely. Nothing makes me happier then when we have a rescue litter and they get adopted in two's.

I just got a cat returned to me, a gorgeous Himalayan, with stunning blue eyes and the most loving, cuddly purrrrsonality you can imagine. Wants nothing but to be held and loved on. Unfortunately... she has decided that while the litter box is fine for tinkling in, the bathtub is the place to poop. Nothing they tried got her back to using the litter box. Sigh. I'm about ready to strangle her, there is nothing nastier than walking into the bathroom in the morning and being greeted by that. Ugh. And she's such a great cat in every other way...

I'm probably being overly cautious here, but couldn't those cats be serious threat to the beardie?

I must admit, I thought that. Even if they don't physically harm him, surely he's stressed by their attentions?

I would also think that it's very stressful. You where probably there all the time, watching there behaviour so he wouldn't physically harm him. But if they 'gang up' on him, I think that this will be quite stressfull for him, not?

    yes
that beardie adventure didn't last long
he'd really wanted to come out, so I let him
but i rescued him right after that picture was snapped
I let them smell him briefly while I held him and one of them touched him without claws
then he got to chill on his hammock behind closed doors
our old cats were - well, old
and he literally got to walk all over them
I still never left them unsupervised together
when there were no cats, he got to roam without supervision
    oh well . . . times change

    Re: our new pets

Oh good grief... since we're talking cats...

I get home tonite and I'm getting ready to go feed the horses... walk thru the kitchen, pet the kitties that are on the counter: Hi Leo, hi Souri, hi Jocelyn, hi Brett... and then my hand lands on this super velvety soft black cat and I think hi... er... uh... WHO is this???

Turns out it's a very nice, very big, un-neutered black male, lounging on the counter like he lives here. Which, I guess he does, now that he's learned to come in the doggy door. LOL

He's welcome to stay, he's obviously made pals with the other cats. But his un-neutered butt goes in tomorrow for the big snip, won't have anything unfixed here, so I warned him... if he's still here in the morning he better kiss those things goodbye...

    LOL!!
