The edge on that beak is like that of a good pair of scissors.
Tank has grabbed me a few times(all my fault) rather then applying full force I can feel and see him lighten up and release.
I've gotten a few puncture wounds from the front of the beak but it's nothing.
Could have been much worse but Tank in my opinion is a thinker and knows I'm not food.
    He's a smart turtle

They grab a mouthful of food, apply power from their very strong front legs and claws and rip chunks off.
At 7 lbs he's super strong. I can imagine what he could do if he wanted to. It wouldn't be pretty.

Yeah really.... Guess that's why you don't keep them as a rule...

You are right. As a rule not a great pet. At least not one you can interact with.
Tank is truly and exceptional turtle. A once in a lifetime turtle.
Last night he came out of his water, climbed up on my are arm and gave me the tired turtle look. I lifted up his blanket and he went to bed.
    An exceptional turtle.

    That's not a turtle, that's a wiener dog with a shell.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff.

we recently adopted another rescue - not a reptile
she's beginning to settle in nicely
she had a big scab on her nose when we first got her about a month ago, and the skin still looks a bit pink and shiny there

she likes to run and we were fortunate to be able to scavenge a big wheel for her

she's not scared of much, but she'll bristle easily, and she does a ton of hissing

not quite, but it's not hugely difficult
she's an omnivore though with a high need for protein
she eats some kibble, and some bugs - loves superworms
she'll also eat some fruit, really likes peas
