re: Other pets (pics and discussions)

My tegus were very healthy, active, they ate well, had free range for part of the day (with a warm spot available of course!) They appeared to be very happy if that is possible (apparently you don't believe this IS possible) You're right! I am sure your animals are much happier living in a tub!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still trying to figure out why you keep referring to age. I rehomed them because I gave up my reptile room because we were rescuing farm animals and had to focus on them. I have no idea how long they lived or if they are even still alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the information I am giving you can be readily found on any decent tegu forum or care sheet that is worth its salt. As for your other comment. I grew up on a farm, I moved to the city and I still have 6 chickens of my own, and I take care of over 20 daily. I also work with a couple locally that are shape trained and extremely intelligent.
Clearly you never took the time with your chickens, as if you once again use the magic search engine google- you will find plenty of examples of chickens being trained.

Seems like if someone isn't as knowledgeable as you they're not worth your trouble.
I'm sure you've made some mistakes along the way, as all of us have.
Might be better to educate as a way to help future reptiles and their owners.
Anyone who gets a large reptile such as a tegu, iguana, monitor, etc and treats it like a dog and denies it proper husbandry is not worth "helping". They didn't bother to do research on the commitment of the animal before hand. If snake rehomed the tegus, admitted he didn't keep them properly and THEN asked for advice I'd be glad to help, however if he comes on a forum bragging about blatant bad husbandry and ignoring all logic - I'm not going to be buddy buddy with him.

Again, how long did they live? I never said TEGUS could not be happy, I said snakes can not be happy. I have personally witnessed problem solving/reasoning abilities with my monitors multiple times.

If you took the time to read, you would realize my posts where about keeping SNAKES in tubs. Not tegus nor monitors. All of my monitors have spacious cages and are extremely well taken care of.

Block me if you don't like it. I'm not going to condone your bad husbandry or allow you to brag about it on any level. I'm going to call you on it every time like it or not.

Feel free. The sad part is you'd rather resort to attacks and insults rather than learning from experience and taking my advice on how to properly house a tegu. Clearly you know more than the hundreds of people keeping and breeding these animals not to mention the field studies of these animals.

Clearly one guy keeping his differently and he's the one doing it right! You're no better than "dancingwithsavs".

Feel free to ask there how they feel about letting a Tegu Free roam all of the time. They'll tell you the same thing as I am, I suspect.

It's going to get locked down at some point.
There are also worse things than that.
