Thanks for the concern. It's in the numbers.....

When you have as many baby snakes as I do, some will not make it.

Theres a dozen or more I never talked about... I only mention the ones that are particularly important/interesting or special. And ones I got from people here.

Sorry Wayne. Guess some are strong enough to survive and some arent- even in captivity.

And I agree with Steve on the bedding in the mouth- may very well of gotten in there as it passed away. Myself, I raise pretty much all juvenile snakes on paper towels just in case, at least until I think they are big enough to handle it if a little bedding is ingested.

I'm so sorry Shannon, He was making such a come back too.

I had kept him in a small tote after the dehydration incident, Used coconut fiber eco-earth misted daily, kept his humidity way up, he got his appetite back and started gaining weight so good.

He was taking Tilapia & wee feeder guppies really well, and then I went to feed him, I opened his tote, it was like someone gut punched me what I saw.

Impressive fight he put up, toughest little fighter I have seen in a while.

Been over a year, waking this thread back up...

Fed Dewie tonight. He is a Cyclophiops Major, also known as "Giant Asian Green Snake"

Dewie was recently purchased to replace my beloved Limon who passed away last winter.

Sorry for the loss, just trying to lighten the mood. Of course, I am only teasing Shannon. Nothing creepy.

I'm watching your progress with dewie with interest wayne. I fell in love with those snakes the first time I saw one, I just can't bring myself to get one until I'm sure I know what all they need to survive. I can't imagine a species of arboreal snake subsists entirely on earthworms in the wild, I mean, why would they ever evolve to be arboreal? I wish there was more information available about them, they're such beautiful snakes.

So far my keeping this species alive has exceeded anyone else in the known herp forum circles.

The first and only care sheet I ever authored was for Cyclophiops Major, Since prior to my obtaining Limon no one even knew what they ate.

I got lucky because I tried garter snake food
