    How neat. :P
If you had picked it up and taken a pic of the tail from the underside I could've sex it too. ^^
That spider seems to be either a wolf or fishing spider.

Mantids are awesome! I'm really missing them this year. Last year i was working at a preschool and the neighbor had a garden. I don't know if they were store bought or naturally occurring but we had hundreds upon hundreds of tiny green babies at work last year. It was fun showing them to the preschoolers, but it was also very important to move them to higher ground at every chance! Preschoolers can loooooove critters too much sometimes!

Oh. Because you know, it seems to me that, aside
from being a little mentally ill, she's pretty normal.

If I were so preoccupied with garters I'd probably get off my bum and catch me one. :P

We usually end up with a pet mantid somewhere along the line. Every summer, my daughter brings me one home. At their Dad's house, there seems to be a fair population!

I've never kept one and I hear they need a steady supply of food
I'll have to read up on it
apparently they're not uncommon around here
    maybe next year . . .
