Any time works for me, I'll book time out of work to suit. I guess we need to think about when is a good herping season in NC.

I'm not sure that the warmest time of year is necessarily the best time for field herping. Having said that, herping isn't the primary purpose of the meeting. My thoughts were that Springtime might be better, but as I said, I don't really mind what time of year.

James, I agree that the really hotter months aren't the best for field herping. More moderate temps produce more finds, but with the primary purpose being a "World Meeting" of Thamnophis members we need input from all who wish to come and then set a date most suitable to the majority. With that said.....what do all of you this is best??

Okay, I'm out-voted on the date. I just hope we're not disappointed with the herping in the height of summer. It'll still be loads of fun, and an opportunity for a swap meet.

well really the hottest and most dry days of summer hear are usually late July into August, thats why they are called the dog days of summer.....
once again I think I'm not the sharpest tool you know.......

but then again the weather is so unpredictable that you won't know what its going to be like til that day..........
