Keep it damp but not too wet and mist once a day with natural spring water. You need to make sure there is plenty of ventilation so it don't mold inside. You can also put a log in for him to hide under. They make awesome pets. Spotteds and marbles are in the mole salamnder family and they spend most of their time underground they take to the water for mating.

Thank you for letting us know. I have never really known how to take care of them properly and last I looked for a salamander (3 years ago) it was the spider/flies for dinner on the menu, which was not going to happen.

This makes it much easier to have one as a pet. They are quite colorful and the spotted ones are large enough so you are not afraid of hurting them.

    Thank you, once again.

If they don't have gills (are frog or toad tadpoles) they do just fine on goldfish flake food. Crush it up fine and sink it to the bottom. Do that until the entire bottom is coated with food. It will be gone, and converted to poop in a matter of hours depending on how many you have. They eat 24/7. Many tadpoles can live in shallow standing water, but do much better if it's gently oxygenated with an air stone. I've raised a lot of different kinds. They grow super fast and are very easy. In a pinch, mashed boiled potatoes and boiled (until mush) lettuce will do. Keep their water cool as possible. Warm water/oxygen poor water causes them to metamorphosis too early, resulting in very small, weak froglets.
