I think the first step would be to find out what amphibians you have in that area. That makes it a lot easier.

I want to set up a viv for salamanders so bad. I have everything I need, including stuff to set up a little waterfall, under substrate water table, and everything.

What I need is some awesome sallies like many of you guys find in your part of the country. Ours are boring, ugly, and can only live if I keep them in a fridge.

The only other thing around here I could keep in a viv without refrigeration would be rough skinned newts and bullfrogs. That's about my only option unless I want to buy whites treefrogs or firebelly toads but I dont want those either. I want some pretty marbled or spotted sallies or something similar. Those you have there are awesome.

There basically aren't any laws regarding sallies except that there are a few native to the state that are protected. This monstrosity is one of them:

WOW!!! Is that a Dicamptodon? What about Ensatina salamanders can you keep them because they come in nice colors.

Salamanders here aren't ugly! When my dad was getting his pool built there were some really awesome salamanders that popped up around my house. Many were black and yellow or orange, but I had found one that was black with blue spots. He was missing a tail and one of his legs. Stunning little guys.

I pretty much got out of snakes entirely to devote more time into monitors and whatnot, I picked this guy up with the intention to flip him, seeing as he's a $225+ snake easily, but for $40 hell I'll keep him and breed him myself, he's gorgeous and I can honestly say he's starting to make me debate keeping snakes and breeding them on a seroius level.
