Getting bit isn't that big a deal.........unless it's a 7+ foot Bull snake that is really hungry. They are very strong and not only do you have to fight with the sharp teeth but also the powerful coils that are doing their darndest to keep you away from the food.

I have a scar from a wound that required sutures as a teen. It was the result of trying to catch an overheated (over 6 foot) san diego gopher snake by hand, and then making the mistake of jerking back when it bit me. It is indeed a big deal when a large, angry gopher snake bites, that's for sure.

See, I had to open my mouth and start this thread. I have a group of WC wanderings, and it's a hoot trying feed them. I've now been hit several times, and they seem to think it's a game.

I've been nipped a few times ny wild garters when catching wild snakes as a kid. Pinched, but never drew blood as far as I can recall. Been musked plenty of times.

With 4 big concinnus girls being fed together from my fingers, I always get tagged at least once. These 4 are good girls though. They always realize their mistake quickly and let go.
